No. Make & Play Studio is not a daycare or drop-off program. Children attend with a parent or caregiver, who remains on-site and is responsible for supervision at all times. The studio is intentionally designed as a shared experience where families play, build, and create together.
Our programming is primarily designed for young children, from approximately 18 months to 9 years, depending on the activity. Open play sessions are geared toward crawlers, toddlers, and preschoolers, while maker sessions and workshops will have clear age guidelines—especially when tools like BeaverBots and ChompSaws are involved.
On Play Days, the studio is set up as a calm, boutique play environment. Families explore soft play elements, sensory materials, and open-ended setups at their own pace, including basic arts and crafts. There are no inflatables, loud arcade-style equipment, or overstimulating structures—just space to move, imagine, and play together.
Open play is flexible and self-guided, allowing families to come and go within their session window. Make Sessions are structured craft and maker workshops with a specific focus, such as building with cardboard or working on a themed project. These sessions are always pre-booked and capped at smaller group sizes for safety and quality.
Cardboard engineering is one of the studio’s signature offerings. Using upcycled cardboard, kid-safe tools, and simple connectors, children and caregivers design and build together—turning ideas into physical structures. It encourages creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration through hands-on making rather than screens or passive play.

We’re planning to open this spring. Exact dates, schedules, and opening-week sessions will be shared first with our email list before being announced publicly.

Neither. Make & Play Studio is best described as a creative play and maker studio. It blends the freedom of play with the intention of making, in a calm, studio-style environment where families participate together rather than children being supervised or instructed the entire time.
